Steve Aylett
If you could pare down "minimalism," and turn it into a spin-off genre (like they've done with, "post-post modernism") and call it, "mini-minimalism," he'd be the forerunner of the genre. To call his books "Terse" would be to pull the rope of words and metaphors tighter than an old man's fishing line as he tried to reel in the shark from JAWS.

Reading a Steve Aylett book is like opening a pop-up treasure chest. Gemstones and charms, strung together on bracelet chains, rise up to display the black noir onyx, the blood-red ruby, the diamond center of the mind, the flaming gold-leaf giraffe trinket of surrealism.
