PETA launching campaign to create Zoosadists
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, no stranger to attention-grabbing campaigns featuring nude women, plans to launch a pornography website in the name of animal rights.
The nonprofit organization, whose controversial campaigns draw criticism from women's rights groups, said it hopes to raise awareness of veganism through a mix of pornography and graphic footage of animal suffering.
"We're hoping to reach a whole new audience of people, some of whom will be shocked by graphic images that maybe they didn't anticipate seeing when they went to the PETA triple-X site," said Lindsay Rajt, PETA's associate director of campaigns.

I was just going to post this in PA or What did YOU find, but why the heck not give it its own topic. The sheer stupidity of it seems to deserve its own topic.
As one of the comments puts it:
This is a terrible idea. People will go for the porn, stop masturbating momentarily when images of mutilated animals appear, figure “This might work” and proceed to masturbate again creating new zoosadists in the process. Completely going against their original goals. Summarized: Showing shocking imagery during a state of arousal is a bad idea.
Who knows if anything that extreme will happen really, nevertheless, I would worry about anyone who goes to a PETA site looking for porn.

I hate PETA
I just want someone to accept my craziness...haven't found the right kind of crazy though.
My friend went for a job at PETA last week. Although he cares about animal welfare, he turned it down in the end - they are just so uncompromising in their beliefs they alienate their audience.
I guess I get the graphic images bit, but why do they need to incorporated porn?

Cuz the extent of their knowledge when it comes to marketing is "sex sells". The concept of psychological association isn't very well understood.
If they actually do have a psychology department, then this just strengthens my theory that PETA actually hates animals.

Saw this on another site and one of the people who commented on it said that some study showed that splicing stuff like shoes or lady elbows or trees into pornographic films can cause the person watching it to develop a sort of fetish for whatever was spliced in.
So this could totally backfire. I'm imagining a sort of Cronenberg-esque scenario where a bunch of people watch this and develop animal slaughter fetishes followed by scenes of children stapling "LOST DOG/CAT/FERRET" signs to telephone poles and Farmer Joe discovering someone has mutilated all his cows...

peta -- as in not the band i was briefly a member of (people enjoying tasty animals, if you must know) wants to launch a PORN website? inter-spliced with animal abuse? isnt that beastiality? i mean at least sort of? you're combining sex, and animals. someone someplace is gonna get a woody over this....

I can appreciate the simplistic creativity. They're crazy committed to trying new things to make people hate dead animals.
