I named this tree atop a hill near my house Juan Paul after reading that.

I was reading a history of the civil rights movement, but I can't find where I put it. My friend has a book on Huey Newton, I'm gonna try to borrow that.

Right now I'm reading The Crime Studio by Steve Aylett. It's great! Every line in the book is a zinger. I can't wait to read more of his stuff. I forgot how good he is.

I'll be finishing that tonight. Don't know what's next yet.

I know that kid. And you guys will too, once you read Praise of Motherhood.

I'm reading On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan.

I'm just up to part two, and while it's an ok read and well written I wish those two would just screw already!

Trust me, it is way better than it's artwork suggests. It was a NY Times Bestseller.

^That was a good one.

I'm reading science fiction anthologies at the moment (The New Space Opera, Vol. 1-2). Some of the stories make me feel way stupid but whatever, I like space and futuristic stuff!

I read The Woman in Black a few days ago and really enjoyed it. It's creepy - kind of like if Wuthering Heights (the book) and The Others (the film) had a baby. The style of writing was in keeping with the classics, and I wouldn't have believed it was written in 1983 if Wikipedia hadn't told me so.

I wanted to see the movie (The Woman in Black) today but it's not uhm, available yet. I didn't know about the book, but now I have to read it.

I'm picking up my copy of Woman in Black tomorrow. I heard it's great to read at night for added effect.

I'm glad you didn't think I was being an asshole. Smile Sometimes I worry. I just thought it was funny the way you said that.

Finished The Crime Studio. It's definately not for everyone, but it was perfect for me. I loved it.

Started Vacation by Jeremy C. Shipp. He sent it to me years ago, but I was swamped with tons of books I HAD to get to and personal problems and then, honestly, I forgot all about it. So overdue to be read. I wasn't going to start it, but I was going through books I have transferred recently to my "to-read" pile. I read the Prologue (hmm, pretty good) and decided to read the first chapter (hooked!). So yeah!

I just finished Looking for Alaska. Freakin' A. Heavy book. Sad. But so good. I love John Green. The way he writes about living and experiencing the world and just existing. So good. So poignant.

I haven't been reading much lately. I'd been kinda consumed ripping people on internet forums, but I've decided to be a bit more productive with my free time and read The Dark Fields by Alan Glynn.

I HATED On Chesil Beach! God, what a load of crap! It's about stupid people being stupid twats. Kind of similar to how I feel about Great Gatsby.

Now I'm reading Blood by Jospeh Glass. It's a bit gruesome, but seems like a good quick read.

I'm reading Marie Claire... it's good this month.

Siddhartha arrived in the mail, from the Netherlands weirdly enough. I'll start it tomororow.

Oh and, I am glad that Sarah hated Chesil Beach too. The characters were awful, frigid wankers!

I think that's why Nick Carraway, the narrator, is just looking on and describing them the way he does. He's a normal everyday average guy. And then there's these entitled fucks with all this money doing stupid shit. He looks on in bewilderment mostly.

But really, the plotting on that one is great. It's become a template for so many books since.
