People do it everyday, they talk to themselves...
You probably all remember this from the hotel room scene we're Tyler talks to Tyler.
Yeah, I've found this to be true.
"They talk to themselves, they imagine themselves...as they'd like to be. They don't have the courage you have, to just run with it."
I've noticed that when I'm visualizing myself, I'm often talking to people and giving them advice...giving them perspective. I like to write and lay down all my ideas (usually as a fictional story) on a page or screen. I don't imagine myself writing, I imagine myself talking and storytelling. Stood facing a class, telling a story (not necessarily big or news-worthy, lol) to my friends and sometimes on more angry and stressful daysl; I imagine myself arguing or in a heated debate.
I don't imagine myself tearing down skyscrapers and having fights with other men, haha. I'm hoping no one else on here does.
But what do you?
And then I begin again, confessing a different argument, that voids the first completely.
And then we start over.
And every now and then, I shut up inside my own head long enough to listen to my imaginings of what the other would reply to me.
But then I wonder if I just made that shit up and start over with the rumination after much debate.
Dialogue is tricky when you're a writer. You come to hate people who flatline conversations, and you come to say things only because you like the way it sounds. It goes from stairway wit to feeling what you shouldn't say on the tip of your tongue, and you end up saying it just so you can say you said it. After that you can't not say it. There's just no depth if nobody disagrees, and the only time to be nice is when everyone's being negative. Adoring contrast is very dangerous, and people often tell me I'm random, which is a word I loathe, which is a word, 'loathe,' that I 'love,' which is a word that would be the blank square in scrabble if it were a letter.
Is this thread about things? Is there a thing that this is going on?
We're Tyler talks to Tyler! If I didn't know any sweater I'd think you did that on tortoise.

Quit doing that, you're making this place look interesting again.
I just want someone to accept my craziness...haven't found the right kind of crazy though.
Well i always do that talking to myself like iam having an argument but the thing how do we run with it and more importantly how can we define ourselves by so few characteristics?
rOwDy!
What "few characteristics?" Talking to yourself? If you're just using that to define you then you don't have a character at all, just a paper cut-out doll with one outfit pinned to it.
Tyler defines himself with a few characteristics he says that hes smart hes capable and free in all the ways the narrator isn't correct me if iam wrong but those are just three characteristics
rOwDy!

I tear down skyscrapers.
I imagine myself as myself, looking out of my eyes, confessing everything I should to everyone I have desired to.
