Why did he arrest him?
Great book, i have a question though, why did Manus arrest all those gay guys? i get that he was in vice and everything but vice is a drug thing. now unless every gay dude in that town was a drug-lord why was he like a male hooker trying to get these folks into him? and if they were all drug-lords then why did he arrest that groom at the end who was only guily of cheating on his wife like an hour after the wedding ceremony?
oh and is Manus gay or bi or just a freak? cuz i mean he dated Shannon but he also was into Shane and Evie/Evan and the groom dude. I mean whats with him they didn't really explain him enough.

well manus's job was a undercover dedective for drugs of some sort, but it was never really fully explained why he was only seducing gay guys; i think the situation was supposed to be a bit foggy, as was the rest of manus's preferences...
like the sexual preferences,
i think that he is most likely bi-sexual as it is CLEAR that he is interested in men throughout the book. but he is also caught staring at Shannon's breasts a few times and fawning over Brandy.
he may have been in Vice, but he's still a cop and can arrest anyone if he catches em doing something. He was going after the gay guys though to prove that he was still good looking enough to get a gay guy.

He was cracking down on prostitution, from what I was aware. This thread got me wondering if it's illegal in "Vice", or whatever city he was in. It makes sense though with prostitution. Basically a sting operation.
And I'm pretty sure that he's just addicted to sex.
Manus was real upset about getting booted off the squad for a younger more unknown dick (as in detective) He wanted to reassure himself that he was still desirable...as in the addiction to beauty, he needed to be the desirable one!
Whoever said that it was just overheard sex play, I think that's right? At that point in the story, Manus wasn't working the beat! but, that part of his job was the most exciting...all that research he did and the smaller speedos...if he was able to arrest the guys, his behavior wasn't gay, perhaps his closet still wasn't wide open! (but the hormones helped! lol)
Yeah Manus was a undercover cop trying to get people to buy him as a prostitute to arrest them. And Manus is defiantely gay or bisexual.

I haven't read the book in a long time but I think he was an undercover John. And yah he is totally a gay perdiflie. And for the part at the wedding he took the groom in to the closet and had sex with hm. Didn't he?
