Okay so I've wanted a Chuck related tattoo for a while now and have had different ideas and what not and one seems to have stuck, possibly. I was thinking about a half-sleeve with the cover arts from Survivor, Rant, and both sides of Invisible Monsters (the young girl/old lady image) then have quotes from Lullaby, Diary, Choke, Fight Club, and possibly Haunted wrapping around between the cover arts. I've noticed that a lot of of the tattoo submissions have been cover art and the same ones at that. So would that make my idea as cliche and just adding to something that's overdone? Or is it different given the quotes?

Inb4 unoriginal, cliche, and asshole remarks

overdone or not, if i saw a man with a Chuck Palahniuk tattoo i would probably try to rape him i would find it so sexy. The quote makes a big difference. Depending on which quote you use, the meaning will drastically change.

Im going to tell you that unless you have some very big arms its going to be hard to get all of that onto a half, or even a whole sleeve and still have it look good. Start with one image or quote and move from there depending. AS for quotes vs. pictures the way i see it is that a quote is Chucks direct work, the cover art belongs to someone else, but is a good representation.

Also if you get a quote find someone who can do good font work, it took me a couple months to find someone who could get what i wanted (i have a Invisible Monsters quote on my collar bone). A lot of people might be able to do fonts but they have a good risk of blowout and bleeding.

Thanks I appreciate the actual input. Nicole: Wink haha that's intense. Noah: If I go through with it it'd most likely be on one of my legs. I should have included that in my original post. Oh well. But I do agree with what you said about the cover art being a representation which is why I wanted to use them as a representation of my love Chuck's works as well the quotes that really stuck with me or meant something.

His words are really the most inspirational things ever. I've just never met someone who loves Chuck as much as i do. That's why this website rocks. Leg tattoos are cool. and which quotes are you thinking of?

I was thinking about getting a Moby-Dick tattoo. Can they even do white ink for tats?

Yup, but its really hard to do. If you threw some gray scale and good outlining it could work out. More or less when using white ink its a dull white.

This reminded me of this:

and I've always thought that would make for an insanely sick tattoo.

that's a fantastic album cover. it would definitely make for a good tat. i don't really like coloured tattoos, especially the really bright ones, but if you could get this done, with those nice soft colours, then damn it would look good.

From Diary: "We are, all of us, immortal." I think this is a great quote because there's several different ways one can become immortal and it's up to one's self to choose which way you wish to reach that. Lullaby: Either, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Because it's 100% true and if I'm ever in possession of some sort of power it'll keep me steady minded whenever I would look at it. Or "We are the culture that cried wolf." I like this one because so much of us are bullshitting our way through life and we rarely help the right people when needed and it'd be a constant reminder. Choke: "Without access to true chaos, we'll never have true peace. Unless everything can get worse, it won't get any better." Because right now my mind is just one big example of chaos right now and i know it'll be resolved and this would remind me of what I overcame. As for quotes from Fight Club and Haunted I'd have to read the books again and see if any have the same impact as they did when I first read them.
