I just got my ticket. Does the strand send you the message right away saying you are one of the first 100 or later?
just got mine too! I would assume we're early enough to be in the first 100.
got mine!
So excited to be hosting Chuck Palahniuk again this year! We are going to hold off alerting the 100 VIPs until we have gotten 100 VIPs.
Looking forward to seeing you all on May 6!
I don't get it, Chuck lives on the west Coast, in fact the guy lives about 20 minutes from downtown Portland, yet he keeps doing these east coast tours. I just hope he has at least one date over here.
I think people on the west coast are typically too lazy to read. The east coast however, is serious business.
In the past he's toured both coasts extensively. Last year's tour was very limited because Chuck had just lost his mother.
Don't despair, there are west coasts dates planned for TELL ALL, they're just not 100% confirmed. As soon as they are, we'll be sure to alert everyone.
okay this 8 city tour better include atlanta ga or i'm going to be very mad!!!!
Also, the tours get kicked off in NY because that's where his publisher, agent, editor etc. are based!
Whoow, whoow, that is some serious talk. Just come to the West Coast, We have Powell's, and the fabled, St.Helens book shop. We don't mess around when it comes to books. hahaha
And ya Rant was the last tour we saw. I still have the wedding dress in the closet.
I really hope he comes to the D.C area.
So who's going to be my date to this?
You're on, Space Monkey. Or better yet we can just go bird-dogging chicks at the Heartland Brewery afterwards. Their Barley wine right now kicks ass!
Very good, sir, indeed. Heartland Brewery is nice. There's a bar, near 13th street that I can't remember the name of...big soccer bar. Chelsea fans mostly. I stopped by there last may for Pygmy.
I tend more to the one on Ave A where all the Brazilian footballers go.
i'm in, and i'm counting on all my friends flaking the hell out, so i'll need a date also
I order my tickets around noon on the 27th and today I got an email from the Stand that I am one of the first 100.
I bought my ticket last week, never got an email, I went back on strands site the next day to check out who to contact and saw that all vip's had been contacted . needless to say I was pissed. I think i got a ticket just for the reading...atleast thats what it says i paid for. Strand apparently doesn't respond to emails. I walked into Strand only once in my entire life and wanted to burn it to the ground, this only adds to my hatred!
Why would you be pissed if it was your fault you were too slow to buy a ticket?
well, nofx is fucking cool. burning down buildings is shortbus retarded, though. i hope they refund you and tell you to fuck off
has anyone received confirmation of being in the first 100 yet?
haha nevermind, i read further. duh.
ok, ready? When I purchased my ticket the site didn't say vip tickets were sold out. Clearly not the end of the world!
So humor and sarcasm don't run rampant around here, huh? Personal shots are cool though man. Perhaps you've never been to Strand but to me it's the definition of a clusterfuck, or maybe its just not my cup of tea.
Why would you be pissed if we use humor and sarcasm to deconstruct your situation with the Strand?
there is no humor or sarcasm here
!
Not pissed in the least. Touché!
However, both came off anything but humor and sarcasm.
PS. I've been a Palahniuk fan for a long time as i see you are too, but I also see your much cooler than I because you've also been internet geek since 2004. Since this has turned into fuck with the new guy, my post on this thread will end.
dont be upset with us for being here so long. me and mike arent the only ones whove been here that long, not by far. my name is legion for we are many.. or something. blame the cult !!
and certainly dont feel unwelcome. say your peace and move on or better yet say hi here:
http://chuckpalahniuk.net/forum/1000033-1
and welcome to the cult
YAY!! i just ordered the ticket, including the signed copy.
I have a question: how can we tell if we're one of the VIPs? Do we get an email? Because I would love to get a signed copy!
We just got ours...going back to NYC again (Websters Hall last year in May for Pygmy). Last year we were able to sneak upstairs and get a signing...I hate to sound completely oblivious, but is Tell-All a new novel or a new autobiography/personal account. Either way I am excited I just can't seem to find info on this. Thanks
I'm heartbroken we missed the VIP group, mostly for the Mrs, since this will be her first live Chuck event. But I'm just thankful to be going. Chuck's readings are always an interesting experience.
We'll see some of you there!
